After studying Business Studies and Modern Languages in the UK, my job took me to Paris where I lived and worked for two years. While there I obtained further qualifications in Commercial French and Translation from the Paris Chamber of Commerce.
I then spent fifteen years in export sales in the food, porcelain and cosmetics industries dealing with European markets, including customers such as the big French cosmetics houses of Chanel, l’Oreal and Givenchy.
After many happy family holidays in France we decided to make our permanent home here and we now live in Poitou-Charentes where we run Vienne Valley Holidays.
Having bought two houses in France I have first hand experience of the purchasing process and can offer translation and interpreting assistance. If you are on holiday I can pre-book excursions or activites for you or if you are house-hunting I can advise and help in communications with estate agents etc.
As a qualified translator I can also help with writing letters and translating documents, opening bank accounts, dealing with tradesmen, planning permission, registering a business and any of the other challenges that you can face when not speaking the language fluently.
The following is a list of services I can offer, however, this is flexible and can be tailored to your needs. As an example, a single page letter would cost around 10€ into English or 12€ into French. I would be happy to supply a quotation for any work beforehand and I can also put together a bespoke “Settling-In Package” to take into account your requirements if you are moving to France, including some or all of the elements below.
